Module 1 - Facilities Planning

Understand broader organisation strategic planning process and the way it provides guidance to the Facilities Management Unit; determine the needs of the organisation and the demands it places on the facilities; understand the procedures and practices of the Facilities Management Unit and the need to meet certain standards of facilities performance; plan the work to be done by their work area and how it impacts upon other work in the Facilities Management Unit.

Module 2 - Operations Management

Implement the operational plans; monitor the implementation of the operational plans; solve problems; review and evaluate the plans and their implementation; report the outcomes of the review and evaluation to relevant stakeholders.

Module 3 - Risk Analysis

Interpret and implement a risk management plan; use the seven-step process to manage risks in specific areas of responsibility.

Module 4 - Procurement and Contract Administration

Identify the needs for goods and services; help with procurement planning process; identify the availability and cost of goods and services; source alternate suppliers; contribute to the evaluation and selection of contractors; administer and finalise contracts.

Module 5 - Facilities Maintenance

Determine the maintenance requirements of buildings, plant and equipment; meet the performance standards requirement of the facilities; select and apply suitable maintenance strategies; manage the maintenance budget; resolve maintenance-related problems.

Module 6 - Budget and Cost Control

Contribute to preparation of the budget; estimate costs; monitor and control costs; manage cash flow; maintain records; prepare and present budget and performance report.

Module 7 - Supervision

Contribute to the selection, training and motivation of staff task staff according to their ability; maintain staff competence; manage performance; address on-going development needs of staff; develop and manage the team. Certificate
